Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is the course required to legally ride a motorbike on the road.

The CBT is a one-day course that will cover all aspects of motorcycling, including safety, equipment, maintenance, control, and road skills.

  • The training starts at our off-road training area, where you will learn how to ride, regardless of experience.

  • Your instructor will cover all the aspects of motorcycling, including safety, equipment, maintenance, control, and road skills.

  • Then you will progress to the public road when the instructor is satisfied with your riding.

  • If the instructor is satisfied with your riding on the public road, you will be issued a CBT certificate.

Once completed, a CBT will allow you to ride a moped if you're 16 or over, or a motorcycle up to 125cc (with a power output of up to 11kW) if you're 17 or over.

Your CBT is valid for two years. After that, you can renew your CBT again, or you can progress to a Direct Access course.

The price of our CBT course is £145, and we require full payment 7 days prior to your training. Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you our banking details via text message for the bank transfer. You can also pay by phone using a debit/credit card, but we prefer payment via bank transfer.

Terms and Conditions: If you have booked and paid for a CBT course and wish to cancel, you must notify us at least 48 hours before the scheduled course date to be eligible for a full refund. If you cancel less than 48 hours before the scheduled course date, or fail to attend without notice, no refund will be issued.

Please note: Any individual found riding without a valid CBT will be committing multiple offences, including riding without insurance, and may be subject to a £1,000 fine and up to 6 penalty points on their driving licence. Other risks include having your motorcycle confiscated by the police and having your insurance blacklisted for up to five years.
